For nearly 2000 years, people have hoped for dialog and understanding between religions, and have attempted to build bridges over these divisions. Music can make a contribution to this effort. Klezmer music, the original music of the Synagogue, and Classical music with its roots in the Church, are stylistically not very far apart. All music has the aim of reaching the soul. Jews and Christians cry, laugh, sing and dance to music. Irith Gabriely with her clarinet and Hans-Joachim Dumeier at the organ, provide a perspective on a style of music which accompanies all of life's many situations. From gloomy melancholy and sorrow to euphoric happiness, everything that moves the human heart can be experienced.
